At Harworth Estates we review our portfolio for waste and mineral developments in a sustainable and sympathetic way. We’re proactive in recycling, reusing or recovering waste products for use in restoration, construction or as a fuel.

We have a dedicated team of professionals specialising in new waste and mineral technologies and also undertake certain site operations.

Our key environmental operations:

Waste Management – Recycling or recovery of waste material for use in construction and restoration

Minerals – Conservation and exploitation of natural mineral products for the construction industry

Recycled Aggregates – Recycling and recovery of secondary aggregates from its disused colliery sites for use in the construction industry

Energy from Waste – Specialist waste facilities that utilise domestic, commercial and agricultural wastes or feed stocks to generate electricity in a sustainable way

Coal Recovery – Identification and recovery of secondary coal fines from its redundant, disused colliery sites

In most circumstances we work with a development partner to assist in the site appraisal, planning, permitting (in relation to waste activities) and construction activities, however, we also have capability of carry out all of these stages in-house.

We’re is constantly appraising new ways how we can utilise former colliery sites for use in the environmental industries and are receptive to new enquiries from developers or consultants who have an interest in a particular project or would like to introduce a new concept or idea.
