We currently generate 26 megawatts of power, enough to supply 30,000 homes with electricity from 4 clean energy plants and that's just the beginning.

At Harworth Estates we are committed creating value from our land and property portfolio.  Low Carbon Energy is an emerging and important sector if we are to have lower emissions and better energy security. Our portfolio lends itself to provide opportunity for many types of scheme.  The industrial history of our sites retains many of the features required for economic viability including good grid connection together with existing on site substations.

By focussing on this sector we will also be helping to reach government targets of creating 30% of the UK’s electric energy requirements from low carbon energy. This target, put down by the Department of Energy and Climate Change, is to substantially decarbonise the power sector by 2020 (on the path to meeting the economy-wide target to reduce emissions by 80% relative to 1990 levels).
